Office Furniture Resources (OFR) was founded in 1991 by the husband and wife team of Tom and Suzanne Quinlan. Suzanne’s executive financial expertise in the corporate real estate industry, coupled with Tom’s 15 years of warehouse managerial experience with a Chicago Steelcase office furniture dealership, provided a solid foundation upon which to build a successful business.
At the outset, OFR’s focus was on providing cost-effective, efficient decommission of commercial office furniture in the Chicago, IL market. OFR wholesaled decommissioned furniture to used office furniture dealers both locally and nationwide. As the liquidation volume increased, OFR added other channels for repurposing unwanted office furniture including retail store locations, a robust outside sales force, e- commerce, and charity partnerships.
The business continued to grow as OFR became the Midwest’s largest office furniture liquidator and ultimately expanded to become the full-service office furniture business it is today.
From our first modest warehouse, OFR has expanded to over 200,000 square feet of warehouse and operations in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Missouri. OFR’s office furniture decommission business tackles some of the most complex and large-scale commercial real estate projects in the region. It is the engine that supplies its retail locations, wholesale dealers, and customers with a continuous flow of high quality pre-owned office furniture. OFR operates retail locations in Des Plaines, IL, and Milwaukee, WI, and has dedicated sales representatives in Madison, WI.
In our signature style of rapid response to market demand, OFR most recently expanded our capabilities by adding a full refurbishing department (OFR Refab) in our Des Plaines, IL location.

OFR recently celebrated significant milestones including our 25th year in business, our 50th employee and our certification as a Woman Owned Small Business by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council.
